World-recognized Master of Wine Tim Atkin has awarded Leyda multiple 90+ medals!
Last year, Leyda’s Viviana Navarrete was awarded Winemaker of the Year by Tim Atkin. This year, Leyda continues to impress the esteemed Master of Wine, clocking up six 90+ awards in diverse categories of his 2021 report. It is a proud accomplishment, and we’re always overjoyed to be recognized around the world for our leadership in producing cool-climate wines of high quality.
LOT, Our most prestigious wines, made from sub-divisions within a plot of our vineyard; an intimation exploration of the Leyda valley. The highest point received was our LOT 21 Pinot Noir 2019, ranking up an exceptional 96 points. The LOT 8 Syrah 2019, LOT 4 Sauvignon Blanc 2020, and LOT 5 Chardonnay 2019, each received a stunning 94 points.
The report also honored six of our Single Vineyard varieties, all elegant, mineral, and complex wines from the best blocks of our terroir.
From our white wine categories, the Single Vineyard Falaris Hill Chardonnay 2019 stood out with 92 points, while the Single Vineyard Kadún Sauvignon Gris 2020 and Single Vineyard Garuma Sauvignon Blanc 2020 were valued with 91 points each! Our reds were rated even higher — the Single Vineyard Cahuil Pinot Noir 2019 and Single Vineyard Las Brisas Pinot Noir 2019 scored a whopping 93 points.
